The Homeless Project
2008-2010
Brochure for public art project; 4 dvds, 60 minutes total
In 2008, I began interviews with a sampling of the homeless population currently residing in local shelters, makeshift campsites, and transitional housing in Northwest Arkansas.
In total, twenty-six interviews were collected.
Each interview, conducted in private and recorded in the interviewees' current place of residence, addresses the meaning and memory of "home."
This touring public art project premiered through storefront windows on 40" lcd flat screen televisions in Northwest Arkansas in 2010.
Weatherproof speakers mounted on the exterior of buildings allowed viewers to experience the voices of the interviewees at street level.
